In 1849 Edgar Allan Poe (Cusack) is a penniless writer who enjoys a drink. He is unable to pay his bar debts and struggling to even get published in the Baltimore Patriot. He is also about to be engaged to very beautiful Emily (Alice Eve), against her father‘s (Brendan Gleeson) wishes.
While the original trio’s act was great, the sound effects-laden wackiness of Moe, Larry and Curly have become dated for a modern context. That is the issue at the center of the Farrelly brothers revival of The Three Stooges.
