Vera Farmiga and Charlize Theron rumored as love interests in “Dark Knight Rises”

Actresses Vera Farmiga are Charlize Theron reportedly auditioned for roles in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming “Batman” film The Dark Knight Rises. The news comes from Comic Book Movie, who got the scoop from an unidentified outside agency. Farmiga and Theron were said to have auditioned for the roles of Julie Madison and Detective Sarah Essen, respectively.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre gets a Sequel

Jigsaw and the Saw franchise are not even fresh in the grave and producer Mark Burg is moving on. The original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be getting a sequel entitled Leatherface 3D. The screenplay is brought to you by the same mind that created Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday. The idea is to connect back to the final events of the low budget 1974 classic and then jump forward thirty five years. With that sort of leap it begs the question if an older Leatherface will still be the central villain. In any event the crazy cannibals will be getting the 3D treatment.

Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg have just revealed some early images for their upcoming film The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. The film will be based on the popular comics written by Georges Remi, better known by his penname Hergé. As is written on its official website, “Tintin” originated in 1929 and has sold over 200 million copies across the globe. The comics centered on a reporter named Tintin and his canine sidekick Snowy.

“Saw” hacks into theaters, “Paranormal Activity” tires

Saw 3D took the franchise out with a respectable box office bow. The seventh and final film in the long running series chiseled an estimated $22.5 million out of the box office pie. An additional $1.7 million cut from Thursday midnight showings brought the final count to $24.2 million. Paranormal Activity, the newer and rival horror franchise dipped 59 percent since last week to land the runner up spot.

First Images of “Captain America: The First Avenger”!

Since the early 1940s, Captain America has held consistent standing in Marvel’s roster of big name superheroes. Still, he has yet to get the big screen treatment until the recent production of Captain America: The First Avenger, starring Chris Evans as the Cap, Hugo Weaving as Red Skull and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter. Now Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive first look at the production, with Evans taking the cover in (almost) full garb, provided a mask will be provided for his costume. Time will tell, but the first impressions of the cover and scans (provided by Superhero Hype) inside show strong potential for the superhero debut set in WWII.
