Olivia Wilde and 7 more up for playing Lois Lane

The slightly controversial casting of Henry Cavill as Clark Kent in Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot took place over the weekend, but everyone now wonders who gets the gig of playing Lois Lane. Dianna Agron, Malin Akerman, Kristen Bell, Jessica Biel, Rachel McAdams, Kristen Stewart, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead are all possibilities to play the Daily Planet reporter, but Latino Review got a tip that Olivia Wilde of House fame might snag the role.

Henry Cavill is the next Superman

Actor Henry Cavill is set to portray Clark Kent in director Zack Snyder’s upcoming reboot Superman: Man of Steel. According to The Wrap, Snyder expressed zeal over Cavill taking the role of Clark Kent: “In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen.  I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry.  He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield.”

Viggo Mortensen confirmed for “Snow White and the Huntsman,” Kristen Stewart wanted

Snow White and the Huntsman is bringing Viggo Mortensen on board to star. According to Variety, he’s negotiating to play the titular huntsman who trains Snow White and helps her escape from the Evil Queen. At one point Johnny Depp was looking like a possibility for this role.

Though Variety reports that Universal wants “a fresh face” for the film – a la True Grit breakthrough and Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld – Kristen Stewart tops the studio’s list of actresses being sought to play Snow White according to The Hollywood Reporter. Emily Browning, Felicity Jones, Riley Keough, and Felicity Jones all conducted screen tests, but testing isn’t necessary for Stewart thanks to her star power attained from starring in the Twilight films.

Michael Fassbender (finally) Confirmed for Ridley Scott

Actor Michael Fassbender just recently signed on to star in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus alongside Noomi Rapace. 

According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog, Fassbender portrays an android in the sci-fi epic. Since the fall he’s been in discussions to take on the role, and now that he’s officially signed on to star, he won’t be playing the titular huntsman in Snow White and the Huntsman; Viggo Mortensen just signed on for that role.
