Only Part of “G.I. Joe” Cast Returning for Sequel


The “G.I. Joe” universe has experienced its fair share of change lately. We earlier learned that director Stephen Sommers wouldn’t be returning to helm the sequel (rejoice!), but later found out that Justin Bieber: Never Say Never director Jon Chu will be filling his spot. 

Now we’re learning that only three of the principle characters from the first film – Duke, Storm Shadow, and Snake Eyes – will be returning, thanks to a tweet from Rachel Nichols

Disney Tags Tim Allen and Tom Hanks for “Jungle Cruise”


Tim Allen and Tom Hanks look to collaborate yet again for Walt Disney Pictures to shoot Jungle Cruise, another film based on a popular theme park attraction in the vein of Pirates of the Caribbean. Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Roger S.H. Schulman (Shrek) will write the screenplay, set to be produced by The Fighter producers Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman. According to Deadline Hollywood, Disney has yet to secure a director.

Devil May Cry Film Might (Finally) Happen


There had been talk for eight years about a film adaptation of Capcom’s “Devil May Cry” franchise, but little developments had occurred outside of rumors. Now, Variety reports that the series is moving forward with a film adaptation, as Screen Gems—the company behind the “Resident Evil” film franchise—has acquired the film rights to the “Devil May Cry” series. The fact that Kyle Ward, who just finished writing the screen adaptation of Kane & Lynch for Lionsgate, has been signed to pen the script means (this time!) they’re serious about getting it made.

Leading Man Wanted for “Bourne Legacy”

Viggo Mortensen “Of Interest” for General Zod


Viggo Mortensen currently tops the list of contenders to play General Zod for Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot. Character actor Terrence Stamp portrayed the villain in the 1980 film Superman II. Mortensen is still negotiating for his role in Snow White and the Huntsman alongside Kristen Stewart, but if that falls through, he we certainly be free take on the role of this iconic Superman villain.
