Formerly titled John Carter of Mars like its originating novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, John Carter stars Taylor Kitsch (Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine) as a Civil War vet believed to be dead who finds himself on a not-so-red-and-rocky version of Mars where he becomes a savior to a dying planet.

Trailer for Soderbergh’s ‘Contagion’ Spreads


Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion is
without a doubt one of the year’s most anticipated genre titles. It is
set to arrive in theaters this September, with a possible bow at the
Venice Film Festival.
The trailer is so intense it may make you never want to touch a doorknob
or have contact with the outside world ever again. If you’ve got any
form of OCD, seeing this movie will probably put you in therapy for
life. The story seems to center on something akin to a powerful bird flu
hitting humans in rapid succession, even resulting in one of the main
actors dying — in the trailer.

If you couldn’t believe it, an official press release from Ghost House Pictures reveals that creator Sam Raimi along with producing partners Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell will “remake” cult classic original, The Evil Dead. After signing an uncredited butpromising filmmaker in Fede Alvarez to write and direct, the release also says Diablo Cody will revise the script.

Ruth Wilson in Talks for ‘Lone Ranger’ Leading Lady



Armie Hammer (The Social Network) and Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean) are onboard to play the titular hero and his ally Tonto respectively, and word is now getting around that casting of the female lead is in the final stages. Deadline reports British actress Ruth Wilson is in talks to play Rebecca, whose character details are not given but definitely billed as the female lead.

Edward Norton Might Play Villain in ‘The Bourne Legacy’

Tony Gilroy’s The Bourne Legacy might add yet another amazing
actor to its cast, with Edward Norton negotiating for a role in the
film. Jeremy Renner earlier signed on as the lead character, an assassin
from Bourne’s program; Rachel Weisz is also attached to the film.

Variety
reports that Universal didn’t make an official comment about Norton and
his negotiations, but if negotiations go as planned, the Academy Award
nominee will play the film’s antagonist. He’s currently filming Moonrise Kingdom with director Wes Anderson.
