Marvel’s ‘Avengers’ Delayed Progress of ‘Runaways’

Quite some time ago, Marvel announced a film adaptation of the comic The Runaways, which sees five teenagers in Los Angeles
fighting against their supervillain parents with special abilities of
their own. However, this project is still in the pre-production stages.

Despite already having a script from popular comic book scribe Drew Pearce, Marvel brushed it to the side to focus on The Avengers, a film that will see Iron Man, Captain America, and other popular Marvel heroes joining forces to save the world; that film is slated to hit theaters on May 4, 2012.

Bruce Willis Negotiating for Role in ‘G.I. Joe’ Sequel

Though he first earned acclaim from the television series Moonlighting, Bruce Willis has become an action star thanks to films like Armageddon and the “Die Hard” franchise. He just starred in the action-comedies Cop Out and Red, but he’s looking to return to straightforward action with an already popular franchise.

Willis is currently negotiating to star in Jon M. Chu’s G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation, sequel to the 2009 blockbuster G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
If the negotiations go as planned, he’ll step into the role of
“original Joe” General Joe Colton, the character who set up “the G.I.
Joe strike team” in the comic books.

‘Resident Evil: Retribution’ Coming September 2012

It’s no surprise, but now it’s confirmed: Bloody Disgusting has
it that a fifth “Resident Evil” film is coming, with main star Mila
Jovovich and “Afterlife” director Paul W.S. Anderson set to return to
their respective roles. The film will be titled Resident Evil: Retribution.

Despite being critically-lashed (even by myself),
“Afterlife” proved to be a financial success, making near $300 million
at the worldwide level on a budget of $60 million. Naturally, this sum
can be credited due to inflated 3D ticket prices, but it was enough for
Screen Gems to invest in a fifth film that will be based on W.S.
Anderson’s own screenplay. Anderson also directed the first film in the
series and has acted as an executive producer for all films since then.
“Retribution” will mark his third time in the director’s chair for a
“Resident Evil” film.
