William Monahan, the scribe who took home a Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for The Departed a few years ago, has been recruited to work on the screenplay for Sin City 2. Comic creator Frank Miller recently finished the initial draft.
It was the second slowest weekend of 2011 thanks to tepid releases and a storm wreaking havoc across the East Coast. The Help managed to stay on top staving off an anticipated horror movie, a traditional comedy, and a brainless action flick.
The 2008 thriller Taken
surprised everyone, grossing around $150 million in the States and
returned Liam Neeson to household-name status. Given the film’s success,
news of a follow-up didn’t surprise anyone. After some brouhaha along
the way, things are finally starting to come together for Taken 2.
In a recent interview with ComingSoon.net, Taken scribe
Luc Besson revealed that Olivier Megaton, who’ll direct the sequel, is
prepping to begin shooting in October and has searched for shooting
locations in Los Angeles.
You might say that no matter when it starts filming, 20th Century Fox’s second stand-alone “Wolverine” movie has an uphill climb. The latest drama to hit the production is finding the right places to shoot it, an issue that could prevent the film from filming until Spring 2012.
