While they may not be the most viewed shows on television, the critically acclaimed comedies over at NBC are certainly getting some of the TV viewing world’s attention with their casting. It's now been confirmed that Dan Castellaneta is set to play a guest role on Parks and Recreation.
The actor, best known for providing the voice of Homer Simpson on The Simpsons, will appear in the third episode of the show's fourth season, according to New York magazine. Castellaneta will play a public radio talk show host in the installment, which is expected to air in October.
As well as having one of the most recognizable voices in the world, Castellaneta has also appeared in episodes of Desperate Housewives, Bones, How I Met Your Mother and Castle. Castellaneta’s addition to the fourth season of the show comes just a few days after Emmy Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated actress Patricia Clarkson (The Green Mile) was cast as Ron Swanson’s (Nick Offerman) first ex-wife Tammy 1.
As well as the heavy hitting additions to Parks and Recreation’s cast, network mate Community has also picked up John Goodman (basically everything ever put on TV) and Michael K. Williams (The Wire).
Both Parks and Recreation and Community are set to return to screens on September 22nd.
