Matthew Rhys to Appear on Girls
Matthew Rhys, best known for his role as Philip Jennings on
The Americans, will be appearing on the sixth and final season of HBO’s
Girls.
Rhys has described his one episode guest spot as a “total departure” from any of his previous roles, according to
TVLine. Not much else is known about his appearance on the show.
Girls is known for hiring a wide range of actors and comedians, including Patrick Wilson, June Squibb, Donald Glover, Gaby Hoffman, Chris O’Dowd, Rita Wilson, Shiri Appleby, Kathryn Hahn, Patti LuPone, Jenny Slate, and Amy Schumer.
It will be interesting to see what kind of role Rhys will play and which characters he will interact with. Most of all, we want to know if he’ll be keeping his off-season beard and real-life Welsh accent for the role, since he doesn’t get to use either in
The Americans, which recently won best drama series for the second year in a row from the Television Critics Association (TCA), and snagged several Emmy nominations after years of snubs.
What role do you think think Rhys will play on the finale season of Girls?
