Yes, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will have an alternate Hyrule to roam around like its SNES predecessor The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, but we now know that it has a name thanks to a new trailer unveiled at this year’s New York Comic Con.
Welcome to Lorule. Get it?
It is still unknown if Lorule is actually the Dark World in Link to the Past, but we do know that it has its own royalty for you to rescue. An unnamed sorceress, who looks like a female Ganondorf, seems to be causing trouble for both worlds and it’s up to this new Link to go and save them.
This installment is known to be breaking some of the series’ traditions, such as the ability to choose which order you tackle the dungeons. This is possible by allowing you to rent the tools (bow, boomerang, etc.) instead of getting them within each lair.
On a side note, the Lorule wordplay wasn't the only gag in the trailer, and it’s the names of Hyrule and Lorule’s princesses, Zelda and Hilda respectfully. Apparently someone at Nintendo’s localization department was a fan of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, because the princesses are named after Sabrina’s aunts in the series: Hilda and Zelda.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds launches on November 22nd, the same day as Super Mario 3D World and the Xbox One. At least Zelda and has a nifty pre-order bonus at GameStop, a free copy of Oracle of Seasons for the eShop.
