E3 2012 has come and gone, but that does not stop Jimmy Fallon from showing off more of what was hot last week on his late night talk show. He has given video games the spotlight before on numerous occassions, from demos of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and the Kinect, but this week's feature on NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon will be nothing but video games. Mainstream folks that did not get much of E3 last week get another chance to see the big games to be released in the coming year.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 already started things off last night as you can see below. Tonight is Halo 4, Wednesday is Sony and Naughty Dog's The Last of Us, Thursday is Madden NFL 13, and Friday is a Wii U demonstration where Reggie Fils-Aime will make an appearance. You can't go wrong with that lineup because they are franchises mainstream audiences know about without paying that much attention to the gaming world. The Last of Us is an exception, but since Naughty Dog demoed a bit of Uncharted 3 with Jimmy, it deserves to be on the lineup. Anyone that followed last week's E3 coverage won't see any new game footage, but those who didn't will still have the chance to see the big games.
Gaming has been getting more time on the late night talk shows as Halo 4 was on Conan the other week and it shows how mainstream the industry has been getting in recent years. Televised appearances like late night talk shows have been great for video games, but we will see if they can go beyond that in the future.
