Killer Instinct Season 2 Priced & Dated
Among the Microsoft announcements from Gamescom today is the pricing and release info for
Killer Instinct Season 2. Now helmed by Iron Galaxy, Season 2 starts on October 15th with TJ Combo & Maya as well as more characters out every month after release. Just like the first season, two editions are available to purchase.
Ultra Edition ($39.99)
- TJ Combo & Maya, with six more characters added each month
- More costumes and customizable packs
- Early access to the new characters and items before everyone else
- Killer Instinct 2 Classic: The arcade version of KI2 is back and now includes online multiplayer (The first KI Classic didn't have online play)
Combo Breaker Edition ($19.99)
- Just the new characters and they also be bought separately for $4.99 each
Players can buy the Ultra Edition early starting on September 23rd till October 14th to get TJ Combo and Killer Instinct 2 Classic as well. This is coinciding with the retail release of the first season.
Fans will also be pleased that Mick Gordon, the composer who did an amazing job with the first season's soundtrack (personally one of my favorite gaming soundtracks of 2013), is coming back for Season 2.
Killer Instinct 1 and 2's original art director Kevin Bayliss will be designing new costumes for the Ultra Edition of Season 2. Another highly requested item by fans is a release of a new Killer Cuts CD and their wish is granted with the soundtrack of the 1st season as well as the original Killer Cuts on September 23rd.
Killer Instinct Season 2 comes out on October 15th only on Xbox One or as early as September 23rd digitally. It looks it is time for me to get back seriously into playing this again.
