Kate Walsh Headed to Netflix in 13 Reasons Why
Kate Walsh will be returning to TV on Netflix’s upcoming young adult drama being executive produced by Selena Gomez,
13 Reasons Why.
This is Walsh’s first role on a Netflix original series for the actress who has previously appeared on
Private Practice,
Grey’s Anatomy,
Fargo, and
Bad Judge.

The show is based on a novel by the same name written by Jay Asher. Both the series and novel revolve around a teenager, Hannah, who sends a box of audiotapes to her classmates before committing suicide, explaining how each of them played a role in her death. Walsh will play Hannah’s mother, according to
Deadline.
Dylan Minnette will join Walsh in the series, playing Clay, the teen who receives the box of tapes with instructions to pass them along to 12 other students. Derek Luke (
Empire) will also be joining the cast as the high school's guidance counselor, Mr. Porter.
The 13-episode season will premiere on Netflix in October. Gomez will executive-produces the drama along with Mandy Teefey, Kristel Laiblin, and Anonymous Content.
