The Jetsons Join Other Hanna-Barbera DC Comics Titles
DC Comics announced during the Baltimore Diamond Retailer Summit that
The Jetsons will be joining
Wacky Racelands,
The Flintstones,
Scobby Doo Apocalypse, and
Future Quest as part of DC Comics' Hanna-Barbera lineup. The series will be written by
Harley Quinn writers Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti. There is no artist announced for the title yet, but Amanda Conner worked on the new designs for the characters that you can see below.
The Jetsons originally aired on ABC as a primetime animated television show, which aired from 1962-1963. The show returned with new episodes from 1985-1987 as part of the Futuristic World of the Hanna-Barbera programming block.
The Jetsons was a futuristic version of
The Flintstones. It was a world of what Hanna-Barbera thought the future family would look like.
