Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s Sin City achieved cult status in a way few films in recent memory have. With a sequel on the way, two impressive casting additions have been announced.
The Hollywood Reporter relays that Jamie Chung and Jaime King will star in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Chung will play Miho, an assassin who gets around on roller skates and uses a katana. King will star as Wendy, the twin sister of the prostitute Goldie – a character she played in Sin City.
Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, and Mickey Rourke, who starred in the 2005 film, also return, however, several major roles, such as one once occupied by Clive Owen and one that had Angelina Jolie in mind long ago, have yet to be filled.
Chung stars on the ABC fantasy series Once Upon a Time and appears in RZA’s The Man with the Iron Fists, which arrives on Friday. King stars in the CW series Hart of Dixie. Rodriguez and Miller will direct A Dame to Kill For based on their script, which derives from various comic storylines and one Miller wrote just for the film.
The film began shooting in Austin on Monday and eyes an October 4th, 2013 release.
