The much-anticipated television adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale now has a teaser trailer. This Hulu original series is based on the best-selling novel by the same name written by Margaret Atwood.
The novel takes place in a dystopian future of the U.S. where women serve as fertile handmaids, tasked with providing children to the wealthy married men of Gilead, whose wives are barren.
It was also announced last week that Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls) will star opposite series star Elizabeth Moss as Ofglen, a fellow handmaid and companion, according to Variety. At first Ofglen appears submissive and accepting of the Gilead system, but she proves to be daring and rebellious and uses her knowledge of the people around her to her advantage.
