It has just been confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 will now miss its November 2nd release date. This is the latest in a long string of delays for what is possibly the most anticipated PS3 game to date. Considering Polyphony Digital’s last full console release was GT4 way back in 2005, that makes GT5 an easy contender for the longest time a game has ever been in production.
There is not yet any official word on when it will now be scheduled for release, other than “this holiday season”. So hopefully it should still arrive before Christmas.
The official Playstation Blog had this to say: “We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season.” Adding “Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.”
