That's right y'all. If bustin' makes you feel good, then you'd better ready your Proton Packs because the word around town according to the good 'ol folks at
The Wrap, is that in preparation for the 30th anniversary of the film, Ivan Reitman's classic will indeed get a theatrical re-release over the Labor Day weekend.
The film has reportedly been restored and remastered in beautiful 4K, which'll be exciting to see, but it will be a limited engagement as only about 700 locations in the US and in Canada will be involved with the showing of the 1984 film.
Another interesting bit of awesomeness regarding the anniversary, is that following the theatrical release, the film will be re-released on Blu-Ray home video followed swiftly by
Ghostbusters II in recognition of its own 25th anniversary.
