Not too long ago good old Cliffy B (Cliff Bleszinski) appeared on the Jimmy Fallon show, and announced that Gears of War 3 would be hitting April 8th next year. However today there was some back-peddling, and a lot of it. It now seems that the game is now set for a Q4 (fall/winter) release.
In an interview Microsoft came out saying that "we've elected to move the launch of Gears of War 3 until Fall 2011 to make it the marquee title for the holiday season." What does this mean? Well, Microsoft knows the power of this game. I honestly thought it would have been a holiday tittle myself, but was shocked when I found out it was in the spring. Though I think I speak for many when I say that we wanted it this fall! However this is a bit unreasonable. It looks like we'll have to enjoy Bulletstorm when that comes out in February if we have that Unreal Engine itch.
