FXX is expanding its programing with a blast from the past. The new spinoff network has made a deal with comedian Sacha Baron Cohen to air the comedy program Ali G: Rezurection. The new series will be comprised of already produced episodes, some of which have aired in the past HBO show and others from the British Channel 4, which have not aired in the US. Along with the previously existing material Baron Cohen will provide introductions to the old episodes. Ali G’s biting satirical tone and material fits perfectly into the FXX brand and the series will be a great introduction to those unfamiliar to Baron Cohen’s earlier work and the character that made him famous.
In addition to the re-airing of the show, Baron Cohen’s production company has also signed a TV deal with FX. FX’s Nick Grad said, “We're thrilled to be in business with Sacha Baron Cohen. He is an amazing talent and we look forward to him developing new series for FXP. We're also excited to introduce 'Da Ali G Show' and Sacha's characters to a new audience on FXX, and we can't wait to see how he will incorporate new, original content in the episodes."
