Perhaps one of the least talked about examples of this has been character of Dr. Sheldon Cooper and his Green Lantern themed T-Shirts on the Big Bang Theory. Whether the shows has popularity amongst comic fans or not it has succeeded in making fans of the show ask about the shirts and there meaning.
Johns' latest endeavor into television was last week's Fringe season finally. On this parallel Earth the Fringe team finds subtle differences from our Earth, most notably their comic books. Fringe Writer/Director/Producer of the finally approached Johns and set everything into motion. A team at Wildstorm, a subsidiary of DC Entertainment, was tasked with the job of altering well recognized DC covers while keeping true to the original work. On DC's blog, Johns has asked comic fans if they would like to see the stories behind the covers, which may mean that the issues will see the light of day. If Frank Miller was actually hired to create Superman: The Man of Steel Returns, I know that I personally would buy it.
