Over the summer, AMC announced that it would be adding a new series to its fall lineup, Into the Badlands. The show was created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who call this series a passion project, according to Variety.
Into the Badlands follows a ruthless warrior named Sunny, played by Daniel Wu, and M.K., played by Aramis Knight as they travel through the hazardous badlands on a spiritual journey.
Joining the men on their journey is Widow, one of the only female barons in the Badlands. She has a group of young women that she has named her Butterflies, who she trains to become skilled fighters while teaching them that equality of the sexes should be fought for. One of the show's other leading ladies is portrayed by Sarah Bolger, and is described as a Lady Macbeth-type with innocence and underlying ambition.
Into the Badlands premieres November 15 on AMC 10/9c and the first season will be 6 episodes in length. Take a look at the first trailer below.
