Day 1 Studios has just talked announced that F.E.A.R. 3, originally being released October of this year, has been pushed back to 2011. There has yet to be an announcement for why it has been delayed but seeing with amount of games coming out around this holiday season it would be hard to compete with just Call of Duty and Halo: Reach alone. Not to mention all of the motion control technology coming out for both the 360 and PS3, so I can’t blame them for pushing it back because I would hate to see F.E.A.R. 3 fall to the shadow of everything else coming out since it is a strong franchise.
Also more development time is always a good thing, more time to make the game feel right and more polished when it is released. Hopefully they go back to making it more challenging this time around like the first one and take up the scares a few notches since the horror genre has a lot more competition ever since Dead Space came out, one of the scariest games to come out in recent years in my opinion. Either way make sure to keep your eyes open for more news about F.E.A.R. 3 as the year presses, such as an actual date.
