Just in time for her bantamweight title defense this Saturday against Holly Holm, EA has announced that Ronda Rousey is the one of the cover athletes for EA Sports UFC 2, slated for a Spring 2016 release for Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
Ronda was a no brainer for the cover spot for next year's sequel to 2014's EA Sports UFC where it laid the foundations for a solid MMA game, but needed more to truly live up to the sport itself. There's also a male spot left to be revealed and I won't be surprised if it's Conor McGregor, but like FIFA '16's multiple covers for multiple regions, they could bring in more fighters for that spot.
As for the game itself, EA is promising a robust feature list more than the last game from a new knockout physics system, dynamic grappling, improved defensive mechanics, better fighter likenesses and animations, and the biggest roster in MMA game history. Career mode is also planned to be changed with both male and female created fighters, a knockout-specific mode, custom events, online championships and the UFC's own take on the EA Sports staple Ultimate Team. More practice options will be also at players' disposal from grapple assisting and skill challenges.
EA Sports UFC 2 comes out on Spring 2016 for Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
