E3 ’10: New Driver Game Announced

Driver has been an irrelevant series for a while now, it's irrelevancy continues as Driver: San Francisco was announced at Ubisoft's press conference.

At least in this one, it definitely has an interesting feature in its Shift mode. Where your character can freeze time and immediately teleport to any car around him. Why can he do this? Because he's in a coma. The entire game takes place in a coma. Awesome! While the series itself doesn't have an impressive track-record, I'm looking forward to this one. The driving didn't look so hot, but I assume that'll improve over its development time.

We'll get to see if the irrelevancy really continues this fall as Driver: San Francisco releases for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, Mac, and PC.
