Dynamite and Ubisoft Announce Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Echoes

This past Friday, it was announced that Dynamite Entertainment is teaming up with Ubisoft to release Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Echoes, a comic book series based on the acclaimed video game franchise. Set between the events of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist, Echoes is a lead-in to the latter of the two in the form of a thoughtful and original story that hopes to expand on and add depth to the now 12-year-old series. The now retired Sam Fisher, a former elite operative for the NSA, is trying to put his life back together. Scarred by the wars he fought in the shadows, Fisher is haunted by his dreams and memories, echoes of his violent past. When KROWE, a terrorist organization that is as mysterious as it is formidable, begins hunting targets around the world, Sam Fisher’s expertise is needed to throw a wrench in their plans. Can one man make a difference?

Written by Nathan Edmondson (Black Widow, The Punisher) and illustrated by Marc Laming (Exile on the Planet of the Apes, The Rinse), the well-established creative team of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Echoes is excited to be a part of the project. Edmondson said of it, “Marc Laming and I had a unique opportunity to take on one of the most successful and recognizable franchises in video games…telling a full and original story that stands on its own.” Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Echoes #1 is slated for release on July 2nd of this year. Fans will be able to preorder the anticipated series at their local comic book retailers.
