In the future a fascist regime has taken over Britain and ruled with an iron fist by High Chancellor Adam Sutler (John Hurt). But resistance is offered by a mysterious freedom fighter and victim of the regime, a masked man only known as V (Hugo Weaving). With the help of a young woman, Evey Hammond (Natalie Portman) he sets out to lead the British people to overthrow the government and get his own personal revenge.
V for Vendetta has become a pop-culture phenomenon with the Guy Fawkes masks being used as a symbol for protest.
