Electronic Arts has already announced the first DLC pack for Dead Space 2, which was released just yesterday. While no in-depth details have surfaced, this new DLC pack dubbed “Severed” will feature two new single player campaign chapters in which players will take control of two different characters. Gabe Weller, a Security Guard who appeared in 2009's Dead Space: Extraction on the Wii, will make an appearance once again alongside Lexine Murdoc--in a desperate fight for survival against the necromorphs. No information has been released on the actual plot, but the DLC is likely to take place on the Sprawl around the time of Isaac Clarke's frantic fight. This however, has not been confirmed.
So, whether you're speeding through the Dead Space 2 campaign or simply craving even more necromorph chaos this year, Severed is probably exactly what you're looking for. EA has not released any information on the release date or price of the content, but it is coming soon to Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles. It is quite uncommon for DLC to be announced on the same day of a major release, but EA seems determined to make Dead Space 2 an unforgettable experience for fans of the genre.
