We have an eruption of
details for you today and instead of posting them in ten different articles and
updating over and over, we've streamlined it all for you in one place.
Yesterday we brought you a bunch of Bat info and today that info continues as
DC had to reveal the creative teams for the books after someone image farmed
most of them yesterday. Today we have more farmed images and a few officials.
The first image we have comes from IGN and it's of Barbara Gordon as Batgirl!
This exciting since the character has been in wheelchair for a long as time and
I think all fans of DC are ready for her to walk again. Hell even Xavier's got
his sea legs back so why not Babs? Also that delayed Batwoman book? It's still
coming as a part of the reboot... why? Who the hell knows since no one is going
to give a damn once Babs returns.
On the rumor mill Bleeding
Cool is reporting that
Scott Lobdell will be writing both Teen Titans and Superboy along with one more
book by him as well. It's good to have Lobdell back in the mix of mainstream
comics since he's one of the best.
Then next rumor is that George I Draw Like The 70's Never Died Perez is supposedly taking over on
writing and art duties for Superman and that Grant Morrison might be working on a
different Supes title, Action Comics maybe? This marks the fourth artist taking
on writing duties at DC which means delays. Writer/Artist never keeps up with
their schedule no matter how good they are. Just look at Finch's already re-launched
Dark Knight title.
Now from DC's the
Source we have all of the
confirmed creative teams working on the Batman Books which include: Batman,
Detective Comics, Batman and Robin and Batman: The Dark Knight.
In the first BATMAN #1 since 1930, New York Times bestselling writer Scott
Snyder teams up with superstar artist Greg Capullo in his DC
Comics debut! In the series, Bruce Wayne once again becomes the only
character taking on the Batman name.
DC Comics’ flagship title is re-launched for the first time ever in DETECTIVE
COMICS #1 by acclaimed writer/artist Tony Daniel. Marking the first time Batman
will appear in a debut issue of Detective Comics, the series will find Bruce
Wayne on the trail of a dangerous serial killer known only as the Gotham
Ripper.
In BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT, superstar artist David Finch writes and draws a
twisted adventure that pulls Bruce Wayne deep into the halls of the famed
Arkham Asylum, a jail for Gotham City’s most dangerous and criminally deranged.
Finch will team up with collaborator Jay Fabok on pencils.
In BATMAN AND ROBIN #1, the acclaimed creative team of Peter Tomasi and Pat
Gleason will explore the family dynamic of the Caped Crusader as Bruce Wayne
battles the Gotham underworld with the help of his son, Damian, in the role of
Robin.
Frankly, I could care less about those last two books and if any of them are
getting cancelled it’s going to be Batman and Robin. The book seems the most
out of place in this post reboot world.
