Lady Death Returns with FREE Premier Comic Book from Boundless

July 18, 2010 – New publisher Boundless Comics proudly announces that Brian Pulido’s iconic heroine will return in October with LADY DEATH PREMIERE, a free preview comic book with a story that leads directly into December’s ongoing monthly LADY DEATH series!

Truly one of comics’ most recognized and beloved female characters, Lady Death has been re-imagined by original creator Brian Pulido and co-writer Mike Wolfer (Gravel, Wolfskin) for a new ongoing monthly series in a way that is respectful to the character’s tremendously loyal fan base, yet wide open and welcoming to curious newcomers. Just in time for Halloween, the LADY DEATH PREMIERE comic book establishes this new direction with a unique story by Pulido and Wolfer, featuring sequential artwork by Marcelo Mueller.

The Saints are back! Fans of the movie Boondock Saint’s are in for a treat as the second volume from 12 Gauge Comics is being released this October. 12 Gauge was kind enough to send us their solicitations as well as a preview of the covers, so check it out.

Scott Pilgrim VS The World Vol 2. – Review

There’s a phenomenon that occurs when one reads Scott Pilgrim. The book becomes nearly impossible to put down once you’ve begun reading. I have loaned, bought and gifted the first book numerous times and the results are always the same: The reader doesn’t stop. What’s more amazing is that this will happen each time you read the book, as was my experience upon re-reading this volume.

The second issue is perhaps my favorite in the series. Probably because it has one of the most brilliant and thought provoking flashbacks of any medium. The story begins with Scott moving to a new town. Within his first five steps onto the school grounds he’s confronted by bullies. O’Malley lays down a key personality trait for Scott in these exact moments: Scott never backs down. He takes on the bullies and winds up in the principal’s office all before attending his first class. Sitting outside the office he meets Lisa, a cute young girl that leaves a lasting impression on Scott. That last bit’s sarcasm.
