Oh yea, Voltron! We’re back with another bunch of Moonstone Books that are shipping in December. Moonstone is a smaller publisher and as such plans their release schedule far in advance. They’ve been kind enough to give us a sneak peak at what to expect for their December releases that will also appear in this weeks Previews Magazine. So You Want to Read Comics?

Comics are big right now, probably the biggest they’ve ever been with the help of Movies and TV. The problem with comics is that people feel that there not very accessible, and to be honest see an issue number 700 on a cover isn’t exactly welcoming. So where do you begin if you want to read comics?

The easiest choice is the indie market. These are smaller press books that are usually limited to miniseries or are easily collected in trade paper backs making them easy to digest. Scott Pilgrim is a great example of an indie book, with a self-contained plot that really only requires you to read six issues to get the entire story. Vertigo’s books are usually the next thing that people pick up. They’re easy to find and very accessible. Things like Fables, 100 Bullets, Y the Last Man and Ex-Machina are great starter issues and usually anyone that is already reading comics, will recommend one or all of these titles to read. They’re safe, fun and different from what people typically think of when it comes to comics.

Flash #4 Review

When it comes to DC characters there tends to be two warring factions. One side that craves for the original character to return to their mantle and the other happy with the character that took their place. DC has two such instances that have left their fans hostile to say the least. The first was the replacement of Hal Jordon with Kyle Ryner. The second instance is actually growing right now. For over twenty years fans have had Wally West as their Flash and as some have put it, they’ve grown up with him.

Review: Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour

Will Scott get the girl? Where did Ramona go? What about Envy? Will Sex-bob-omb ever hit it big? It’s the biggest Nintendo themed Manga of the year: Scott Pilgrim 6.  Playeraffnitys review for the final chapter of Brian Lee O’Malley’s epic tale is here! For a single issue finale, I’d probably put issue #60 of Brian K Vaughn’s at the top. Yorkick’s goodbye to Ampersand, the lost moment with 355 on the plane, and the truly prefect final shot and farewell… there may be loose ends in the series, but, my god, does that issue get everything right.
