Artifacts #2 Sells Out

It is not surprising in the least that Artifacts #2 has sold out.  I like to think my review helped bolster it’s popularity, but it is more likely that the many dedicated followers of Top Cow waiting were responsible for the impressive sold-out issue.  And it is a good thing they bought a comic with a great story and artwork instead of an issue pumped for several years and not deserving of all the hype.  Artifacts is a fantastic comic, and if you have not picked it up, I highly suggest doing so when more come in tomorrow.

Artifacts, Top Cow’s latest Universe event series by writer Ron Marz (Witchblade) with the art team of Michael Broussard (The Darkness), Rick Basaldua (The Darkness), Sal Regla (Magdalena) and Sunny Gho of IFS (Velocity), experienced another sell out at the distributor level for its second issue.  A second printing of Artifacts #2 has been sent toDiamond Comics Distributors to meet the demand and will be available in local comic stores tomorrow.

New OGN – Term Life

What would you do if you had a family to care for, but everyone from the mob to dirty cops wants you dead?

Writer AJ Lieberman (COWBOY NINJA VIKING) and artist Nick Thornborrow (The Anthology Project) ask just this question of the hero of their new graphic novel TERM LIFE, coming in January 2011 from Image Comics.

“Coming off COWBOY NINJA VIKING, I wanted to write something a little less… insane,” says Lieberman. “And I wanted it to have a lot less Vikings. I’m a huge fan of crime fiction. TERM LIFE is a puzzle — a bloody, violent puzzle! Our hero is trying to do one very simple thing: stay alive for the next 21 days. But the great thing about crime fiction is that the hero rarely gets what he wants.”

Walking Dead Weekly?

No Kirkman will not be going the way of DC or Marvel and turning out watered down weekly releases of new Walking Dead. Instead he will be going the route of DC and Marvel and reprinting old issues and charging more money for them, than when they were originally released. Some where in the PR info below you’ll notice they say it’s a great way for followers of the series to patch holes in their collection… The only way I could do that is to pay an outrageousness amount for the under-printed second issue. The series is dead to me after issue 52 or whenever the hell the prison nonsense wrapped up. Any ways I’m sure someone out there is happy about the reprints and it ties in perfectly with the TV shows release… enjoy! Also you can buy these books digitally for $2 bucks… just give you options!

Bruce Wayne – Road Home: Outsiders #1 Review

This is probably the shoddiest stone paving the road of Bruce Wayne – The Road Home. It does not further the story and the art is nothing special. It is a rather mediocre tale that is a bit of a let down from previous Batman one-shots, not that they were fantastic to begin with. It is sad this story turned out so poorly since it was so well foreshadowed in Bruce Wayne – Road Home: Red Robin #1 (such ‘creative’ names, by the way).

Soldier Zero becomes Boom!’s Best Selling Title… Ever!

I’d like to think that we played a small role in this books success with our constant promoting of the issue which received a great review from our own Rick Jones. It should be interesting to see if Boom! can break it’s own record either with the second issue or with The Traveler (the next Stan Lee project from Boom!).

BOOM! Studios is proud to announce that STAN LEE’S SOLDIER ZERO #1 has sold over 24,000 copies through all channels and broken all records for the five-year-old publisher, making STAN LEE’S SOLDIER ZERO #1 the bestselling BOOM! Studios comic of all time.
