Birds of Prey Finds A New Ongoing Artist

Starting in May, the Birds of Prey will have a new ongoing artist. Adrian Syaf will be taking a new direction in comics as an artist of something else for DC (which hasn’t been released). While Gail Simone still is committed to being the writer of the series, she will need another artist to fill in the gaps. That artist will be Jesus Saiz. Yep, starting with Birds of Prey #12 Jesus will be the new ongoing artist for the series.

Writer Gail Simone shared her thoughts on new Birds Of Prey Artist

Teaser Time – Infinite Vacation Teaser 4

Hey guess what’s out today? Spawn 200? Well yes that too, but I was looking for Infinite Vacation #1! Which means we have one more teaser! And it’s really dull… I think maybe they should have stopped at three or picked a better magazine to do a mock up of. As promised though here’s my grocery list since there’s nothing left to say about this teaser! Soy Milk, Wheat Bread, Butt Wipe Paper (funnier to say it that way), Moon Shoes, Pop Rocks, Baloney to throw at cars, Strawberries, Coleslaw, 1 random item that makes me feel like a rebel for not putting it on the list and sarcasm! Enjoy the book!

Teaser Time – Infinite Vacation Teaser 3

Teaser time again! Here’s the third (of four) teasers for Infinite Vacation that comes out from Image and Shadowline tomorrow. First off, yes that’s a ipad. Second, yes a couple of those pointing fingers look like they only have three fingers on their hand, but I doubt it’s intentional. Also I nailed the whole “Inception” vibe as it’s stated on Image’s own site. Here’s what the books about straight from Image’s site… since you know I have no idea what else to say about this book. Tomorrow you receive my grocery list and the teaser because I have nothing else to say until I read the book.

The Death of Comic Book Guy – Series Review

Straight out I honestly believe that many comic book fans upon hearing of this mini-series would have leapt at the opportunity of getting their hands on it, I know that’s what I did! Just seeing the cover of the first issue (a parody of the first issue of Fantastic Four) made me smile.

The series starts with Comic Book Guy posting on his blog his reenactment of many famous death scenes from movies and comics. Comic Book Guy then stumbles across an ad for a new Lard Lad mascot and he goes for the tryouts. He is defeated by a man going by the title Graphic Novel Kid, but the car he’s in blows up. At a movie memorabilia auction, there is an accident and Comic Book Guy is also blown up! Two deaths in one issue, crazy!

Neonomicon #3 – Review

I thought that this series could not get any worse… it did! This series has been a complete disappointment and I don’t really see where it’s going.

Gordon and Merril had infiltrated a sex cult, but were discovered and Gordon was murdered. Merril was then raped and left for a mysterious creature. Merril has been having multiple sex encounters with the creature over quite some time. She hallucinates about a Lovecraftian city named R’yleh and then the creature escapes the “dungeon” with her.

Radical Makes the NY Times Business Front Page

Radical Comics is making a splash on the NY Times business page with a piece on the companies Publisher Barry Levine. The piece talks about Radical’s deals with Disney, Dreamwave and Fox, but Levine isn’t able to go into details about which deals would be green-lite first. Levine has the heart of comics at mind though as he loves to rip off his shirt and show off his Hercules tattoo, one of Radical’s first and most successful graphic novels.
