Infinite Vacation – Another Image Sellout

Image Comics is pleased to announce yet another sell-out first issue today. A second printing of Nick Spencer and Christian Ward’s Shadowline title, THE INFINITE VACATION #1, has been scheduled to satisfy the demand of readers who missed out on Spencer’s latest hit.

“It’s so great to get all this support from the fans right from the start!” exclaimed Nick Spencer, writer, “I also feel very lucky to have Christian Ward working with me as a co-creator on this project. THE INFINITE VACATION is simultaneously the story of an everyman but also vibrant and surreal — like a visual representation of the subconscious in a technologically-driven world. Christian’s art just hits the mark exactly, and it’s clear that the fans feel the same way!”

You Missed That Issue! – Haunt #2

Hey readers, this is another addition to the “You Missed That Issue!”. For those who may not know, this type of feature is dedicated to showing you what we believe are the new “classics” that have arisen in the past decade. There is a hitch however, as the comics we talk about are ones we believe were overlooked. We will talk about everything that happens in the comic trying to convince you why it is a “modern classic”, but it will be full of spoilers. So spoiler alert from now on guys.

Quick mention of what’s happened; Daniel Kilgore is a troubled priest whose brother (Kurt) has been killed (turns out he was a secret agent). Daniel can see and speak to the ghost of his brother and when two men are sent to kill Kurt’s wife Daniel combines with Kurt’s ghost to create Haunt, who later kills the assassins. Now this is only a second issue of the new series by Robert Kirkman and co-creator Todd McFarlane, with art by Ryan Ottley (Invincible), but I believe it is one that truly kicked off the series. Another issue that is a great example of mixing action (or violence) with drama.

DC Comics Drops the Comic Code

As of April, DC Comics will not support the “Comic Authority” seal anymore? What does that mean DC Comics will be having a different comic rating system for their comics. No longer will readers see an “Approved by the Comic Authority” badge anymore, but a video game rating – Wait what?

Co-publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio state that ALL DC Comics will have a different rating system on the cover instead of the Comic Authority badge. This will have the similar “game ratings” that you see on the front and back of video games. E for everyone, T for Teen, T for Teen Plus, and finally M for Mature. DC will be publishing these ratings on their covers on April of this year.

Iron Man’s Greatest Villains Plus Norman Osborn

Iron Man has had a lot of villains over the years. While most readers (and non-readers) think that Tony’s greatest enemy is himself, Stark and Iron Man have had numerous villains. While not as famous as Spider-Man’s Green Goblin or as legendary as the Fantastic Four’s Doctor Doom, Iron Man and Tony Stark have a small but excellent rogues gallery. This is also celebrating Invincible Iron Man #500, which is the anniversary issue and also the reason why this feature is posted!
