The Sky Over The Louvre – Review

Not only is this the most unique format for a graphic novel it’s probably the most unique graphic novel I’ve read. The Sky Over the Louvre takes place during the French revolution and features a long list of paintings from the museum including: Woman With A Mirror, The Young Beggar, General Bonaparte, Death of Joseph Bara and Madame Charles-Louis Trudaine just to name a few. Altogether, the book features thirty-eight paintings from the Louvre to add a very authentic feel to the story and the book.

Action Comics #900 Controversy – Mountain Out of a Mole Hill

This week has been full of its fair share of comic controversies the first starting with Superman renouncing his US citizenship. The story started on Bleeding Cool with the article, “Action Comics #900 is a Fox News Story Waiting to Happen.” Guess what happened then? It became a national news story and of course Bleeding Cool was at the forefront. They then followed up with another story, “So I’ve been talking to the Washington Times for a Half an Hour about Action Comics #900.” From there every comic news site began posting their thoughts getting reactions and really building the mountain.

Image Announces “Repulse”

After showing his artistic skills in his debut title Spawn, Szymon Kudranski has unveiled his latest project called Repulse, a dark science-fiction thriller.

Our scenario: Robots will remember their past life as a human being while helping to solve the worst crimes in history, but one detective must stop a serial killer from murdering the rest of his officers and stop him from destroying him.

Kudranski is a rising star in the comic book world, greatly changing the visual style of Spawn and receiving great praise – people are anxious to read every new issue coming off the presses just for his artwork alone. In Repulse there will be a lot to look at with the comic spanning 72 pages in black-and-white. Part of Repulse will be in Diamond previews in May and it will go on sale June 6th for $6.99.
