Madder Red might be the best new villain of this year. But other than his actions, dialogue and stylistic art choices (with colors similar to those in the artist’s Sin City work) there isn’t much else to this dragging 54 page comic.

I am excited that with this issue, Jonathan Hickman finally propels us into the meat of the plot of this book. Two issues ago we had our first continuation of a storyline and the last issue also tied up the loose end of what happened in Germany when Werner von Braun was recruited. With this issue we carry forward and tie together both of those threads. At last! And it has definitely been worth sticking with Hickman during his setup phase.
What happens when Damian and Huntress confront each other for the first time? They are both the children of Batman! Will they have a sibling riveraly?

Peter Cannon’s origins are explored. Again. Then we get a flashback to Tibet, a trip to Japan and a mummy mystery and murder – all in all, way too much. And the artwork doesn’t help ether.
