Revere has the medical condition known as Hyperkinetic Depth Perception which allows him to see further than… basically anyone else. This allows him to see movement and distances faster and further than anyone else. When driving he can accurately tell the time and distance it takes him to reach a landmark. In his current instance he’s trying to dodge a train while shaking off a couple of guys shooting at him. Revere is a professional courier that specializes in the packages Fedex and UPS won’t take. Some of his clients are on not the most law abiding citizens, but his current employer is the FBI.

Hellraiser #1 – Review and Prelude Download

Clive Barker returns to Hellraiser with the first issue of the brand new series from Boom! Studios. This is only the third time Clive has actually laid hands on the issue so it’s kind of a big deal. Pinhead is after all one of the most recognizable characters in movies, not just the horror genre. Everyone has seen him at one point in their lives and along the way Pinhead and Hellraiser became watered down like a lot of horror franchises. The first thing to know about is the eight page free prelude to the series.

Witchblade #143 – Advance Review + Witchblade #142 Review!

After issue #142 served as a set-up to Witchblade #134 showcased terrible art and a sub-par story that did manage to intrigue me with the ending. Since it has been reported that Witchblade would be taking a short breather in 2011 (hopefully in order to spend more time trying to perfect the quickly decaying Artifacts mini-series), these will be the last two new issues fans will be able to enjoy for a while. The first part of “Upstate” stars Sara’s boyfriend and partner Patrick Gleason on a solo job retrieving a criminal for their station with the help of residential rookie cop Kate Rooney. Here, the story continues after all the cops are slaughtered while Petramale, the deadly criminal, remains in his cell, leaving us to wonder who the killer is when ghosts appear. This issue served as more of a large set-up issue that really did not have any appeal to me until the ending.

Soldier Zero #6 – Review

Armed with the iPhone from the future, Application Nine is about to put an energy knife into the back of Stewart’s head. Until his brother’s pleas distract him long enough for a context sphere that pushes App Nine through a wall. The two continue to battle as App Nine tries to reason with Stewart while ignoring the Soldier Zero half of his personality. The two cause a lot of destruction as Soldier Zero asks App Nine if he’s government issued. App Nine tells Stewart that he is far from being government and that he can protect him if he surrenders. Stewart wants to know who he’s going to be protected from. App Nine doesn’t tell him, but instead tells him that they just want the tech nothing more.

c2e2 Movie Night: Boy Wonder Review

To the untrained nerd/geek, a movie
entitled, Boy Wonder sends the vibe of a superhero movie. Granted it
contains the structure reminiscent of a comic character origin (as
any character driven narrative should have). Boy Wonder isn’t so much
a comic book super hero film as it is a revenge film.
At an early age a Sean Donovan (Caleb
Steinmeyer ) witness the murder of his mother. This in turn causes
him to lead a very antisocial life consisting of no real friends,
just a few acquaintances. Living alone with his father, Terry Donovan
(Bill Sage) the two of them keep a fragile relationship that was
built from past abuse in Terry’s heavy drinking days. Sean turns most
of his free time to academics getting him straight A’s. Though still
haunted by the loss of his mother, Sean keeps the hope of finding her
killer and one day bringing them to justice.

Marineman #4 – Advanced Review

Swimming at the beach is now safe! As long as you know somebody like Steve Ocean who can breath underwater! In an age where every character seems to have a dark past, Marineman is the chiselled boy scout image incarnate. Steve Ocean’s (Marineman) secret is no longer a secret. He was an oceanographer celebrity. His abilities were revealed to the world in issue two when he jumped into the ocean to rescue his friend and he was underwater for roughly an hour. Issue three was an origins story and now issue four escalates the drama.

Invincible #78 – Advanced Review

I remember, Invincible when it came out. The team did a Super Patriot book before it. I was ecstatic about it because I digged the art of the Super Patriot book. But at the time Invisible’s first issue came out I was not into super hero books anymore. I picked Kirkman’s zombie book, rather than his bright yellow blue teen super hero. Besides I’m sure that at one point in your comic geek life you have encounter the dreaded “Money shortage” and some books had to be sacrificed for the sake of your daily living. That was the case with me and Invisible–sure I read some reviews and features and the book sounded like a must have. Yet I never bothered to pick it up even in collected editions. When I was assign for this issue, I thought maybe I should read the back issues before reviewing issue # 78– its common sense right? But I remember when I was a kid I was not given that choice.

Morning Glories #8 – Review

Whereas the last issue focused on Zoe, this issue is all about Hunter. It shows him as a little boy running frantically towards a street. Just as he’s about to run out in front of a truck an unseen man grabs him and pulls him back. The unknown man asks Hunter why he’s in such a rush. Hunter tells him that he was supposed to me his father but lost track of time. The man tells him that being late won’t make his father nearly as upset as him not looking both ways before crossing the road. The unknown man gives Hunter his gold watch and makes him promise that he’ll never be late again.

Twilight Guardian #3 – Review

In the last issue we found the Twilight Guardian bonding at a comic convention with likeminded heroes as they patrolled the streets together and formed an alliance. Of course once the con was over the Twilight Guardian was left alone again… that is until a comic book company offers to make a comic based off of her. Back in her home town she settles back into her routine of a nightly patrol and reading comics in her underwear. This time she has something new to read instead of old comics. The company has sent her pages of a treatment for her comic. She settles in and reads a few pages that depict her as the Punisher. In the comic she enters a bar and shoots the crap out of everyone before blowing it up via her trained monkey in a helicopter.
