Kristy Cotton’s got a posse. In the last issue Kristy was given an envelope of very useful information pertaining to an artifact that opens one of the gateways to hell. It’s a music box in the shape of a carousel. She calls together her team of survivors and they must decide whether to pursue the artifact which is clearly a trap set for them.

The Traveler #7 – Review

The story is still running a marathon with the plot making it very difficult to really enjoy everything in the book, but it takes steps towards returning to its former glory. The issue begins with our displaced explorers sharing a cafeteria style meal which is interrupted by Daavi falling on top of their table. Kronas is left outside the city captured by Abaris. He uses Daavi’s memories to find her lair so that he can save the people of the city. Abaris is unhappy of the developments and sends the Shock Force into the city to beat the ever living hell out of its captured citizens. Now Daavi and the others are racing the clock to make their escape from the city to help Kronas, while he races the clock to save the universe.

DuckTales #1 – Group Review

We’ve had duel reviews and now we have a triple-threat review! That’s right so many of us had an interest in Duck Tales that we decided that it was best that all of us chime in on the return of one of Disney’s most beloved afternoon cartoons. We’ll start with the synopsis from Kaboom! and then move right into the heart of the review! DUCKTALES is back! The hit Disney Afternoon TV show makes a splash this month as an all-new, original ongoing comic book series! Alpha Flight #.1 – Review

When I heard that Marvel had relaunched Alpha Flight, I have to admit I was intrigued. Then I found out that Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente where the guys that were writing the book so I could not refuse to pick it up and give the first issue… eh, point one issue a shot. The new series of Alpha Flight takes place after the events of Chaos War, where some of Earth’s mightiest heroes were brought back to life. Among them were members of Alpha Flight and now the original members of the team are reunited and have taken the call of protecting Canada from any and all dangers that might come their way including parking tickets!

Astonishing X-Men # 38 – Review

The Astonishing X-Men # 38 is far from astonishing; in fact, I would change the name of this book all together to the Slapstick Men or the Mediocre X-Menbecause this book is far from an X-Men book.  The new story arc called “Meanwhile” is written by Christos Gage and the art is by Juan Bobillo, with inks by Marcelo Sosa and color by Chris Sotomayor.

Witchblade #144 – Review

This double-sized 15th anniversary issue of Witchblade not only has a lot of substance but sustenance too. Witchblade #144 is the perfect issue to get any newbie caught up with all the Witchblade lore, although with two stories, it might not be what hardcore fans are really looking for.

The first story from Witchblade #144, “cleverly” titled “Origin Secret.” Why not a normal title like “Secret Origin?” We’ll talk about that when we get to the second story. “Origin Secret” focuses on an internal affairs agent investigating the death of Sara Pezzini’s former partner Jake McCarthy. In the process Jake’s journal is found detailing Sara’s history as the bearer of the Witchblade.

Fear Itself #2 – Review

Marvel’s big summer event continues and boy is it eventful in this issue! Fraction ignores the outcome of his first run on Thor altogether as the Asgardians make their way back to Asgard. This should technically bring back the Red Meanies, but hey who’s keeping track of that right? The world then literally creates itself beneath their feet as Odin spouts off on the return of the Serpent and how earth is lost. Thor calls him a coward and is then shackled by some manifestations from Odin. Back on Earth hammers begin falling towards the earth next to some of the biggest villains in the world. The first lands next toJuggernaut who picks it up and is transformed much like Sin was in the first issue.
