Shipping In June – Zenescope

Well I hope you like variant covers because Zenescope is coming out with a ton of them for FLY! Although I’m a bit iffy on the premise of the book the covers are awesome! Hopefully the team knocks it out of the park. Besides that its the usual Grimm Fairy Tales, Myths & Legends and Neverland all cranked to 100 for sexiness! I am looking forward to Brimstone as that seems a bit different from their usual stories, but we’ll have to wait and see. Check out the entire listing below. Written by Joe Brusha, Neo Edmund, Barbara Randall Kesel, Paul Kupperberg, Aaron Rosenberg and Darren Vincenzo Grizzly Bears, giant Salt Water Crocodiles, rogue Lions… we don’t occupy a place on their list of usual prey items and rarely do we cross paths with these deadly predators. Still, on occasion, the most dangerous animals in the wild set their sights on humans and when they do the results can be devastating. This first book in Silver Dragon Books Animal Planet series looks at these terrifying encounters and illustrates what happens when humans interact with the Worlds Most Dangerous Animals.

MegaCon 2011 – Rumors and Facts

Well Megacon 2011 is under way this weekend and beside fraudulent artists the big story is that after Brightest Day, Geoff Johns will be moving over to a monthly Aquaman title. That’s where the facts portion of this article ends. You may remember last weekend we picked up on the self generated rumor from DC comics about a superstar writer and artist taking over on JLA well it looks like the it may be Geoff Johns. But wait the rumor gets better! He might be co-writing with Grant Morrison! But wait it gets better! The artist is rumored to be none other than Jim Lee! Again this is just rumors, but its seems likely since DC blundered and told us that there was a new team taking over the book and that Johns is confirmed for one more title outside of Green Lantern, Flash and Aquaman. So what do you think? Do you want to see Geoff and Grant team up on JLA and once again make it a book worth reading?

I can’t really explain what a mixture of South Park and Monty Python is, but that is the way Kinky and Cosy has been described. Lois Lane Girl Reporter – A Story That Never Happened

Before you get your hopes up, this series is not happening. Unfortunately the current leadership at DC Comics is not interested in the series which is a shame since it not only sounds interesting, but also a great way to bring female readers into the world of comics. Via Dean Trippe’s Tumblr account is all the nitty gritty details of the proposed series dubbed “Project 77.” The series was pitched as illustrated young adult novels in which eleven year old Lois Lane finds her calling in life… investigative reporting! Trippe goes on to outline the premise further that Lois seeks to write wrongs and help friends. The interesting part is the inclusion of a young Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne! That’s right the young reporter’s path crosses with her future husband and millionaire playboy at a young age. In general this series sounds like a no brainer to publish so it’s a bit shocking that DC gave it a pass. The art style is really cool and simple, but sticks with you all the same. If you’d like to read more about the outlined series I encourage you to check Dean’s Tumblr page where he has the first two books plot outlined as well. If you like let DC know and maybe they’ll give it shot after all.
