DC Reboot – Babs Back As Batgirl and Other Details

We have an eruption of details for you today and instead of posting them in ten different articles and updating over and over, we’ve streamlined it all for you in one place. Yesterday we brought you a bunch of Bat info and today that info continues as DC had to reveal the creative teams for the books after someone image farmed most of them yesterday. Today we have more farmed images and a few officials. The first image we have comes from IGN and it’s of Barbara Gordon as Batgirl! This exciting since the character has been in wheelchair for a long as time and I think all fans of DC are ready for her to walk again. Hell even Xavier’s got his sea legs back so why not Babs? Also that delayed Batwoman book? It’s still coming as a part of the reboot… why? Who the hell knows since no one is going to give a damn once Babs returns.

DC Reboot – More Covers Leak

If you
haven’t been able to keep up with all the speculation and cover leaks then fear
not for we’ve gathered all of them and put them in one nice neat package for
you. You’ll notice a theme for all of these covers and it’s Batman! Not just
Batman though, we have Nightwing, Catwoman and possibly Detective Comics! It
looks like we’re not getting rid of Tony Daniel’s on Batman just yet, but he is
supposedly moving over to Detective Comics. Frankly the Batman news is pretty
average with the exception of artist Greg Capullo! Then there’s a very carefree
Catwoman. Also we’ve included Swamp Thing… because where the hell else were
we to put him? A few of these leaked from DC’s site the Source, but with no
story to accompany it leaving me to believe that one is coming and maybe
someone on the internet is spoiling the announcement. Regardless we’re posting
the picture until we’re told to take them down so enjoy!

Comic Book Theatre Festival In New York

Hey comic book nerds, wanna get some culture in your life?  Yes, Graphic Novels are art, now set down the funnybooks and go to the Theatre.  But I’m not talking about boring theatre where people talk about their feelings and stuff.  I’m talking about theatre where men in capes fight crime, and hot chicks in spandex punch robots.

Comic Book Movie Night: The Mighty

Another day and it looks like another comic book getting the possible movie treatment.  The best part is that this vicious cycle will never end… and why should it? It looks like Paramount Pictures has acquired The Mighty, a graphic novel published by DC Comics. Slow down, I know what you’re thinking. “It’s a DC book and DC properties go through Warner Brothers.” Well not this time nerd, because it’s creator owned, so in this case the creators own the rights.  Who are the creators? Why, Peter Tomasi (Brightest Day) and Keith Champagne (Armor X) of course.

Valiant Comics Returns

Hey kids Valiant Comics is back! Hopefully this time around it works out for Valiant Comics. Valiant Entertainment, the company that purchased the rights to the Valiant Comics characters when Acclaim went bankrupt, is ready to resume publishing in 2012 in a major way thanks to an infusion of capital from Cuneo and Company, a firm headed by former Marvel CEO Peter Cuneo. Over the past few years Valiant Entertainment has published three collections of comics released by the original Valiant, a one-time publishing powerhouse during the “go-go comic book speculator-fueled boom” of the early 1990s. In 1994 the video game company Acclaim, which was also riding high at the time, purchased Valiant, but the comics market turned sour and Acclaim lost its video game mojo as well and went bankrupt in 2005.
