Out next week is Aspen Comic’s next volume of Executive Assistant Iris #0. This marks the start of Aspen’s crossover event The Hit List Agenda. The book will be out next week on the 15th, but for now enjoy a first look at the book. Who knows maybe we’ll have an early review.
I hope you weren’t liking Hawk and Dove because Liefeld is about to make them look like the 90’s! The announcements keep pouring in from DC and sure enough Scott Lobdell is working on Teen Titans, eh, Young Justice. Gotta brand them properly for the TV show right? I’d have to say that Teen Titans is the only good announcement from this batch. Seeing Paul Levitz take on the Legion for the millionth time just isn’t interesting. Are there going to be a 100 members? Are they going to talk about their time with Superman? Probably since there’s two books. I don’t know what DC is think giving Liefeld a shot at a monthly book and considering how popular Dove is from Brightest Day, you’d think they’d want to keep her looking… modern. It’s probably one of the worst reboot images so far since they actually look older than they did in Brightest Day and Birds of Prey. More announcements later today I’m sure, in the meantime enjoy the covers and vague descriptions provided by DC.

It’s written by Scott Lobdell who’s also writing Aspen’s Excutive Assistant Iris crossover, which marks the first crossover the company has produced. He’s also writting some of those new DC books everyone’s talking about so check him now and see what to expect from him in the future.
We posted some early reviews of Aspen Comic’s releases this week and now we have a special preview of those very books so that you can see for yourself what they’re all about! Up first is Soul Fire volume 3 #1. Take a look at the return of magic! Be sure to check out the review as well if you like what you read in the preview.
Where do we begin? Today DC broke out what they’re calling “The Dark Side” of the DCU which has a combination of magic users and even a few Wildstorm appearances. I have to say I like that they’re working Wildstorm into the DCU core and I think the reboot is the prefect way to do it. Also we have some exciting Bat news as Scott Lobdell’s third book is revealed and it’s The Red Hood and the Outlaws drawn by my personal favorite Kenneth Rocafort. I’m almost sad to see Rocafort at DC and hope that he doesn’t become just another cover artist *coughDavidFinchcough*. A bit of sad news was the return of Batman Inc. which leaves me to believe that they’re not going to take this opportunity to fix Batman and stop Grant Morrison’s reign of terror. Thankfully book isn’t going to hit until 2012, but that just means they’re going to spend a year working backwards so they can get to where they are now… broken!
Well, well, well, it looks like we made the quote sheet for Ducktales which has sold out sending it to second printing. This is yet another Boom! book that has sold out which is great to see them finally gaining in popularity. Keep it up guys! BOOM! Studios announced today that DUCKTALES #1 has sold out, sending the all-new high-flying Uncle Scrooge adventure series into second print! It looks like DC wasn’t happy with just revealing four creative teams today and have decided to announce another four creative teams. Before we get to that the rumor mill is speculating that Jeff Lemire is going to be writing Animal Man. At this rate I don’t know what DC’s going to announce at Comic Con, but it should at least be filled with creators that can actually talk about what they’re working on since it will be all new and fresh!
