Jimmie Robinson’s Bomb Queen series is possibly one of the craziest parodies of the superhero genre in comics. With each volume the ante is up’d and it looks like volume six is not exception.

With one of the coolest comic company names you’d expect 12 Gauge Comics to deliver a high action product. Well their next batch of releases looks to be all action. Yesterday we reported that issue one of Boondock Saints had sold out and today we bring you the next big thing from 12 Gauge. If you’re lucky like me and have a comic shop that buys practically every book that’s released weekly then you’ll have no problems tracking down these titles. If you not then you should pre-order from you’re store so that you’re not missing out on these pretty bad ass looking titles.
Here’s a little known fact about variant covers… they saved comics after the bubble popped in the 90’s. So now with practically every big title there is a variant. With Marvel and DC though, there’s practically a variant for EVERY title. Brightest Day is nearing it’s ninth issue and DC is still cranking out the variant covers. Well all of these covers are pieces of a whole and that piece is actually amazing to look at. The question everyone seems to have though… what am I looking at?
Top Cow Productions, Inc. proudly announced today that they will be returning to the 2010 Baltimore Comic-Con, Baltimore’s premier entertainment convention, this weekend August 27-28,2010. This marks the third consecutive year the publisher has had a presence at the show.
Top Cow Publisher Filip Sablik and Direct Market Liaison Atom! Freeman will be bringing writer Ron Marz (Artifacts, Witchblade) and artist Nelson Blake II (Magdalena) to the show. Marz, Blake and Sablik (Pilot Season: The Asset, Last Mortal) will be on hand for signings both days at the Top Cow booth. In addition, Sablik will be available throughout the show for portfolio reviews for aspiring artists.
Today Image released this teaser for Walking Dead #80 entitled “NO WAY OUT”. Wrestling fans should be familiar with this term as it was a once popular WWE pay-per-view. I’m pretty sure I remember watching the Rock and Man-Kind have a no holds bar match in which Folley bled a lot. Why am I rambling about wrestling instead of talking about the comic? Because this teaser image tells us absolutely nothing and is basically used to generate interest and knowledge in the product before it launches. Perhaps Kirkman will sake some tree branches and actually stop ripping off other horror and zombie sources for his story. Maybe the book will introduce a new writer or gasp… end! Oh wait, there’s a TV show coming so never mind. Any ways enjoy the teaser.

12-Gauge Comics proudly announces the sellout of Troy Duffy’s BOONDOCK SAINTS: THE SECRET HISTORY OF IL DUCE #2. Fans of the film series continue to seek out the new title, which has resulted in a steady flow of reorders from comic retailers across North America. 12-Gauge publisher Keven Gardner said, “Clearly, the Boondock fans can’t get enough of the McManus family and their adventures. We anticipated this kind of demand and did a very healthy over-print with each issue, but it still wasn’t enough. The legend of the Boondock Saints continues to grow!” Eben Matthews, The Boondock Saints comic series producer, added, “The Boondock fans are the best. Being a life-long fan of comics, and a long time fan of the Saints, I knew that Troy Duffy’s creation would translate perfectly into comic books. Dark Horse Comics is thrilled to announce that Joss Whedon’s Angel will return to the Dark Horse stable in 2011. Dark Horse’s Angel will bring the beloved characters from Whedon’s longest-running shows under one roof, allowing for new and exciting explorations of the Buffyverse featuring favorites from the casts of both series.
“I’ve always regretted letting Angel go in the first place,” Dark Horse senior managing editor Scott Allie said. “So we’re really excited about getting him back, as well as all his supporting cast. It’s necessary for how Joss wants to handle season nine, details of which will start spilling out in the months to come. Right now, we’ve got to wrap up season eight, and IDW still has a good long run of books before season nine starts.”
