Comic Heroes Magazine Including First Issue of The Traveler

BOOM! explodes in the December issue of FUTURE’S COMIC HEROES as they’ve announced they’ll be cover-mounting the full first issue of STAN LEE’S THE TRAVELER, created by Stan Lee and written by Harvey & Eisner Award-nominated writer Mark Waid with art by AMAZING SPIDER-MAN’s Chad Hardin.

“We’re immensely proud and deeply honored to be able to bring you a hugely collectible first issue of THE TRAVELER with COMIC HEROES issue 4,” said COMIC HEROES editor, Jes Bickham. “The exclusive cover from BOOM! Studios makes this a rare treat indeed.”

Top Cow Publisher Sablik Promoted to Retailer

Top Cow Productions, Inc. is proud to announce that the company’s publisher Filip Sablik has been promoted to working retail at Collector’s Paradise in Winnetka, CA for his birthday, this Wednesday, December 15, 2010.

While most individuals are beginning their holiday vacation, Sablik will be playing double duty as he teams up with the popular Los Angeles-area retailer to work as a sales associate as well as act as Santa. The publisher will hand-sell this week’s Top Cow releases (Velocity #3 and Witchblade Annual 2010), ring up customers, offer recommendations and follow storeowner Edward Greenberg’s every order.

Clive Barker Writes Hellraiser Only At Boom!

This March, Hell comes to BOOM! Studios as master of horror Clive Barker writes the newest chilling installment of his signature creation with the new HELLRAISER ongoing series! Joined by co-writer Christopher Monfette and HELLBLAZER artist Leonardo Manco, Clive Barker’s HELLRAISER #1 features covers by Tim Bradstreet and Nick Percival. The release of HELLRAISER #1 ongoing will be joined that same month by HELLRAISER: MASTERWORKS VOL. 1, the first in a series reprinting the hard-to-find Marvel Comics-era Hellraiser stories. To herald the HELLRAISER: MASTERWORKS series, HELLRAISER #1 will be an epic, oversized 40-page debut that includes a story by THE MATRIX co-writer & co-director Larry Wachowski — ripped from the HELLRAISER: MASTERWORKS series.

The Kill Corps Goes To Hell In 2011

SoCal metal band The Kill Corps is set to unleash its powerful debut album on Virgin Records in the summer of 2011. In bloody juxtaposition, they will bring their incendiary music to comics with the release of THE KILL CORPS, a one-shot from Image Comics that will hit shelves in March 2011.

Inspired by the music of The Kill Corps, a seasoned team of comic pros is behind the book: Award-winning comics scribe JIM KRUEGER (Earth X, X-Men) pens the enthralling tale, while Eisner Award winner BEN TEMPLESMITH (CHOKER, 30 Days of Night) and Society of Illustrator Award winner DENNIS CALERO (Cowboys & Aliens, Legion of Superheroes) provide the art and cover.

Preview Time – Velocity #3

In case you’ve been waiting in anticipation as long as we have. Here’s a preview of Velocity # 3 out this week from Top Cow. The last time we saw Velocity was way back in September! It’s been so long I don’t even remember if it’s a “monthly” title or not. At any rate, it’s finally here so enjoy.

True Blood’s Second Comic Book Series

First a novel, than a hit TV-series, than a highly successful comic book that’s first issue sold 47,000 copies. True Blood has vampire-lovers in their thrall with the adventures of telepathic Sookie Stackhouse and vampire Bill Compton.

For the uninformed, True Blood is and will be published under the IDW logo. The second series is going to be written by Michael McMillian (an actual actor on the True Blood show – a.k.a. Reverend Steve Newlin) and Marc Andreyko with art done by Joe Corroney.

New Venom, Host, Misson and Series From Marvel

Venom will return in 2011! As of Siege, Mac Gargan is currently in prison paying for the many crimes that he has committed as Venom. So while he’s out of the picture, it looks like the Symbiote is going to have to find a new host. Marvel states that Mac Gargan will return to his original identity, Scorpion in 2011. What’s going to happen to the Symbiote in 2011? Is it good or is it bad? Lets find out!

39 Minutes Wins Top Cow’s Pilot Season

39 MINUTES turns a heist story on its head when a group of ex-soldiers turned bank robbers’ decide to hit up small towns leaving a path of destruction by killing everyone who gets in their way.  As the clock’s ticking, the only man who can stop them just happens to be in prison and refuses to help.

Echoes Contest and Release This Month

Schizophrenia, resentment, doubt…murder?  These are all things Brian Cohn inherits from his father in Top Cow Productions’ newly suspense/thriller, ECHOES, the first independent-styled series coming out of Minotaur Press.
