So the Heroic Age proved to be a little more generic than heroic. A lackluster end to his Avengers run did little to diminish the overall importance of what Brian Michael Bendis accomplished.

By now you’ve already read Amazing Spider-Man #700 or had it spoiled by twitter or even CNN. I was extremely surprised by Dan Slott’s conclusion – I was sure that Spidey would prevail over Doctor Octopus. But, no, Slott stuck to his guns. Of course, as Spidey’s life flashed before his eyes, Doc Ock felt the burden of Uncle Ben dying and is presumably now a good guy. Is this good for the Spider-Man franchise?

All it took was superhero registration and lots of Skrulls to put Bendis on track to becoming one of the best and most historic Avengers writers. Civil War and Secret Invasion pushed Bendis out o fhis comfort zone, and he came out better for it.
After careful deliberation (a.k.a. literally hundreds of pages of covers released in 2012 on Comic Vine) I have come up with the top 10 worst covers of 2012. And boy, are there some doozies this year…
Smallville Season 11 is everything the recently ended show should have been – a good Superman story. Given its generally unnoticed release as a digital comic it’s time to shine the spotlight on Smallville once more!
