Breaking Bad’s Dean Norris Headed to Netflix
Dean Norris, best known for his role as Hank Schrader on
Breaking Bad, is joining Netflix’s
Girlboss. He will have a recurring role during the freshman season of the show, which was inspired by Sophia Amoruso’s autobiography with the same title.
Girlboss is being written and produced by Kay Cannon and directed by Christian Ditter. The show centers on Sophia, played by Britt Robertson (
Tomorrowland,
The First Time,
Life Unexpected). Sophia is a, “rebellious, broke anarchist who refuses to grow up”, according to
Deadline. She has a passion for fashion and aims to rise up in the retail clothing industry by being her own boss. Norris will play her father who is also her opposite in every way.
Comedian and actor Alphonso McAuley has also been cast as Dax, an attractive bartender who is dating Sophia’s best friend Annie, according to
Deadline. McAuley is best known for his role in ABC’s
The Middle.
Girlboss will be hitting Netflix with a 13-episode first season in 2017.
