Quantic Dream's latest title, Beyond: Two Souls, finally has a release date. Eager gamers can pick the game up in North America on October 8th. This announcement comes nine months after the game's reveal at E3 2012.
This announcement also comes with another huge surprise. Actor Willem Dafoe (Platoon, Spider-Man) is in the game as well, and he plays a crucial part in the story. He plays Nathan Dawkins, who Sony describes as “a government scientist who works with Jodie to analyze her powers.” There is no telling how that relationship will develop, but it is confirmed that the relationship between Dawkins and Jodi will be a central theme in the game.
Finally there is news on the pre-order side of the game as well. The PlayStation Blog has outlines that those who pre-order at GameStop will receive an automatic upgrade to the special edition, while supplies last, so get those pre-orders in early to guarantee the special edition. The special edition includes an exclusive steelbook premium packaging, behind the scenes videos, soundtrack, a PS3 dynamic theme, and a PSN avatar bundle.[>
In addition to all those goodies, those who pre-order the game at Gamestop before the release date will also be receiving an exclusive 30 minute additional playable scene, via DLC. Check out the latest trailer and a behind the scenes video with Willem Dafoe below.
