Arseface from Preacher Revealed at WonderCon
One of the most well-known characters from
Preacher was revealed at WonderCon. The character of course, is Eugene “Arseface” Root, played by Ian Colletti. Arseface is a boy whose face is severely disfigured from a failed suicide attempt.
Despite his strange appearance, he is actually a nice kid rather than a villain. He looks up to the preacher, Jesse Carter, but still fears God is against him because of his dark past.
Eugene’s Arseface is created using prosthetics instead of CGI, according to Seth Rogen, who spoke about the process at the
Preacher world premiere at SXSW.
The
Preacher series is a dark comedic drama about a preacher from West Texas named Jesse Carter, played by Dominic Cooper. He isn’t just a preacher, however, he is also inhabited by a mysterious entity that gives him unusual powers.
The series also stars Ruth Negga, Joseph Gilgun, Lucy Griffiths, W. Earl Brown, Anatol Yusef, Tom Brooke, and Derek Wilson as characters "from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between", according to
Variety.
Preacher is set to premiere on AMC on Sunday, May 22 at 10/9c.
