Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is one of the hotter projects in development in Hollywood right now, and seemingly everyone wants in on the action—literally, from the sound of things. Variety is now reporting that the Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) project from Seth Grahame-Smith’s novel of the same name, has found its lead villain.
Rufus Sewell (The Illusionist, Dark City) will play the vampire Adam, the lead (villainous) vampire in Lincoln’s world.
“Vampire Hunter” will focus on Lincoln’s earlier days systematically hunting vampires at night, searching for the suspected vamp that killed his mother. The character of Adam is flanked by a cast that includes Abe Lincoln (Benjamin Walker), his future wife Mary (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), his vampire-hunting mentor Henry Sturgess (Dominic Cooper) Lincoln’s best friend William Seward (Anthony Mackie) and Lincoln’s doomed mother (Robin McLeavy).
