Comedian Jim Gaffigan Joins Cast of FX Drama Fargo
When last we’d heard from Jim Gaffigan, he was
laying to rest his eponymous series due to creative and scheduling conflicts. It didn’t take long for the veteran comedian to return to TV—the bigger surprise, however, is that it isn’t another comedy, but rather a drama.
Gaffigan will become a series regular with the third season of
Fargo, the award-winning FX drama based on the Coen brothers’ film of the same name. He is set to portray Donny Mashman, a police deputy working alongside Chief Gloria Burgle (
The Leftovers’ Carrie Coon). Aside from Gaffigan, other regulars added to
Fargo s
eason three include Ewan McGregor, playing the dual roles of Emmit and Ray Stussy, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as the crafty and alluring Nikki Swango.
Created and written by Noah Hawley, and co-executive produced by Hawley and the Coen brothers, Season 3 of Fargo is set to debut in Spring 2017.
