TV News Tidbits: 20th Century Fox Movies on HBO, Michael J. Fox, and More

Business News
20th Century Fox has renewed its domestic output deal with HBO through a new agreement between Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution and HBO’s Film Programming division. What this means is that HBO will continue to be the premium network for 20th Century Fox movies, just like it's been for the past 30 years. If you are reading this, I suspect you might not be relying exclusively on paid TV channels for your movies, but feel free to use this information whenever a friend or parent starts considering dropping HBO.

Michael J. Fox is considering a full-time return to TV, and all four major broadcast networks (Fox, ABC, NBC, and CBS) want a piece of it. The Good Wife lawyer has teamed up with writer Sam Laybourne (Cougar Town) and director Will Gluck (Easy A) on a single-camera comedy that might be based on his own life.

Renewals News
TNT's Perception has been renewed for a second season. Despite being this year's third best cable debut, the series still has to prove that the channel's old slogan ("We Know Drama") applies in its case.

Casting News
Michael Grant Terry, who plays Temperance Brennan's "squintern" Wendell on Bones, has been cast in a multi-episode arc on Grimm. I guess all those years spent dealing with repulsive dead bodies have prepared him for the spooky side of Portland.

John Barrowman (Torchwood) has been cast in a recurring role on The CW's Arrow. He plays a character known as "Well Dressed Man".

Fan-Favorites News
Now a good news for Fox's Fringe fans. After taking ten days off to seek treatment for a sleep disorder, John Noble (Walter Bishop), is back on set in Vancouver.
